The Spring Valley House
Commonly known as the Half-Way house for its location 1/2 way between Chicago and Peoria on the stage coach. The house was built
as a hotel in the 1850’s and is also on the National Historical Register.
Our goal is to see the site restored and the generated revenues used
to build the site as a tourism destination in the LaSalle County that
will enhance our heritage. This site is a double historical site with both the hotel and the Kaskaskia Village on the National Register of HIstorical Places. |
